WorkPorts is a set of web-based tools knowledge-workers use to publish information on their web site. It provides a set of building blocks to display any content you choose for an intranet or web newsletter without requiring any expertise in HTML, or additional software.
Long after the programmer has gone home, you can continue to create and edit the items that define, determine and describe your organization's culture. Whether it’s the president's byline, announcements, a calendar of important events, a discussion, or a graphic design combining text and image, you won't require a technical hand to keep readers up-to-date and informed. In fact, you are looking at a site built entirely with WorkPorts modules right now!
Security in a WorkPorts Site is role-based. A site administrator creates roles (or groups) and assigns registered users to these groups. Pages are accessible only to specified groups; similarly, editorial access is limited by group. In this way, the extent of each user's access to resources throughout the site is determined by group assignment. It's a very flexible approach and completely customizable. |
